Romeo's Rescue of Wisconsin is a foster-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and rehoming dogs, with a special focus on German Shepherds and Shepherd mixes. Our mission is to give every dog a second chance through compassionate care, responsible placement, and the time they need to heal, trust, and thrive in a loving forever home.
MEET
PARKER
Parker is a handsome Shepherd/Chow Chow mix who recently made the journey from Texas to Romeo's Rescue of Wisconsin. With his striking looks, wagging tail, and curious personality, Parker has already started winning hearts.
Since arriving, Parker has shown himself to be an energetic, happy dog who enjoys being around people and taking in everything around him. He's observant, intelligent, and loves exploring his surroundings. His unique blue-black tongue is a classic trait of his Chow Chow heritage, adding to his one-of-a-kind charm.
At Romeo's Rescue, we believe every dog deserves the time, patience, and individualized care needed to succeed.
Over the next several months, we will be working closely with Parker to help him settle into his new environment, build confidence, and continue learning the skills needed to thrive in a forever home.
Parker is currently undergoing his decompression and evaluation period and is expected to be available for adoption around September 2026.

Approved applications will be kept on file, and we will contact potential adopters once Parker is ready to begin meeting families. This allows us to focus on giving Parker the individualized care, patience, and support he deserves while also preparing for his future forever home.

BAXTER
Baxter was the very first dog welcomed into Romeo's Rescue of Wisconsin. Found as a young puppy in a drainage ditch in Texas, Baxter's journey began with uncertainty.
When Baxter arrived in Wisconsin, he was very timid, nervous, and unsure of the world around him. We knew he needed time, patience, and understanding. Rather than rushing the process, we focused on helping him build trust and confidence at his own pace. Day by day, Baxter began to come out of his shell, learning that people could be kind and that he was finally safe.
Over the next three months, we watched him grow into a playful, loving young dog. While he still had a little bit of nervousness when he left, he had come so far from the scared puppy who first arrived.
At just 8 months old, Baxter found his forever home with a wonderful family committed to continuing his journey. Watching him leave was bittersweet, but seeing him walk into a life filled with love made it all worthwhile.
As Romeo's Rescue's very first rescue dog, Baxter will always hold a special place in our hearts. He reminded us that healing takes time, trust must be earned, and every dog deserves a second chance.
